How the application process works

The application process

Before you can start processing payments with Adyen, you first need to complete the application process:

1. Receive welcome email

First, you’ll receive a welcome email with:

  • A username to log in to Adyen’s TEST environment.

  • A link to create a password for the TEST environment.

    • Note: This link expires in 24 hours.

  • Once you’ve created a password, you can log in and fill out the application form.

Note: There are two Adyen environments (aka accounts):

  • TEST: The account you use during the onboarding process.

  • LIVE: The account you use once your account is live.

2. Fill out application form

Next, fill out the application form. You will need to provide all relevant information relating to the legal entity that Adyen is screening.

For example, if your legal entity is “Joe’s Burgers and Fries LLC”, you’ll have to include information such as:

  • Business registration details

  • Information on the entity’s directors

Tip: Refer to this article for tips on submitting the correct legal entity details.

3. Adyen review

Once submitted, the Adyen onboarding team will review the documents.

  • If everything is approved, your LIVE account will be created.

  • If some modifications are needed (for example, an invalid business registration number), we’ll notify you via email. Once modifications are complete, you can resubmit the application for review.

Note: It takes up to 4 days for documents to be reviewed.

4. Account is LIVE

Once the account is live, you’ll receive an email with your Essentials (aka LIVE) credentials.Â
