Why do I receive "This merchant is not enabled for Google Pay" when attempting a transaction with Google Pay?

If you receive the error ‘This merchant is not enabled for Google Pay’ when using the Web Drop-in or Component, please check the following:

  • In your paywithgoogle.configuration object, ensure that you are using your Company or Merchant Account Code as the value for the gatewayMerchantId.
  • In the same object, if you are using Drop-in or Components version later than V3.13.0, and you specify the merchantName, you also need to specify the merchantId and gatewayMerchantId.
  • Ensure you’ve added your shop domain to the Google Pay API console.
