How do I create AVS risk rules?

In order to locate the Address Verification System (AVS) rule, first navigate to your risk profile under Revenue & risk > Risk Profiles > Block. The risk rule is disabled by default.

Click on “Configure rule options”

The below dialogue box will open with different options.

Choose the option that suits your need, click on “Save” and then on “Enabled” to activate the risk rule.

Please note that this risk rule might limit the optimization scope for the Optimize suite. Given the high risk of typos and the historical trend of excessive false declines due to AVS mismatches, consider allowing Optimize to manage the balance between conversion and fraud risk for these transactions, rather than blocking them outright through Protect.
