How do I create CVC/CVV risk rules?

CVC rule

In order to locate Card Verification Code (CVC) rule, first navigate to your risk profile under Revenue & risk > Risk Profiles > Block. The risk rule is disabled by default.

Click on “Configure rule options”

The below dialogue box will open.

This check does not trigger for recurring transactions because the check is done only on the initial transaction.

Choose the option that suits your need, click on “Save” and then on “Enabled”  to activate the risk rule.

Note: To read more about CVC, please visit Adyen Docs page.

Please note that this risk rule might limit the optimization scope for the Optimize suite. Given the high risk of input errors and the historical tendency for CVC mismatches to cause excessive false declines, consider leveraging Optimize to balance fraud prevention and conversion, rather than blocking these transactions outright in Protect

These settings can be found under Revenue & risk > Settings > Optimize
