How can we activate a card?

Activate an Adyen Issuing card

To start making payments a card needs to be activated. For security reasons, we advise keeping the card inactive until the user receives the card.

Activate a card from your Customer Area

  1. Log in to the Balance Platform Customer Area.
  2. Go to Payment instruments.
  3. Select the preferred payment instrument from the list.
  4. Select Change card status and set the New Status to Active.
  5. Select Change status.

Tip: Activate a card via an API call.

Activate contactless function

One you set the card status to Active, you need to perform a chip and a PIN transaction. After this, the contactless function will be active.
