What is the current status for processing Sofort (by Klarna)?

Klarna is consolidating its payment solutions. Hence, Sofort will be discontinued as a standalone payment method during Q4 2024. The bank transfer payment option will be integrated into Klarna Payments as Klarna Pay Now. 

Onboarding is, therefore, fully closed for new merchants as of October 2023.

We’re working with the Klarna team to provide more specific timelines for Sofort deprecation and will share further communications once the plans are finalized. 

In the meantime, as an alternative, Adyen merchants may offer their shoppers the following payment methods:

• Klarna Pay Now*
• Pay by Bank (available in DE and GB)
