How can I release preauthorized funds after I complete a transaction?

Once a transaction moves to the Captured status, there are no outstanding authorization holds on Adyen’s end unless you have Multiple Partial Captures enabled. 

If you have multiple partial captures enabled, follow this guidance to release the authorization hold once you have captured the necessary amount for a transaction: 

Any portion of the authorized amount that was not captured will be automatically released back to the customer. 

Sometimes a charge appears in your customer's bank statement that reflects the authorized amount, in addition to the captured amount. This is often the case when banks hold the authorization amount.

The timing of this release depends on the customer’s bank and how promptly they update pending charges. The customer may want to contact their bank directly to request that the pending charge be corrected.
