Determining your Blend pricing

The right Blend rate will typically be a combination of current competitor offerings, your own competitive positioning, and your commercial strategy – underpinned by market dynamics and interchange. For example, if your platform offers a very unique service and you’re one of the first in the market to add payments to the mix, you can argue that your prices can be higher. 

Looking at current online pricing from leading platforms, we see the following blend rates:

  • US card-not-present: 2.9% + $0.30 

  • US card present: 2.6% + $0.10

  • EMEA card-not-present: 1.9% + €0.30

  • EMEA card present: 1.2% + €0.05

This can be used as a boundary within which you determine your blend pricing.
