A payment instrument is either a physical or virtual material allowing the cardholder to make a transaction. It is commonly called a card and contains the following:

  • PAN
  • Validity Date
  • Cardholder Name
  • Magnetique stripe
  • Chip
  • CVV / CAVV / CVC

Tip: A payment instrument is encrypted to secure cardholder information.
