March 31, 2024, is the official transition date for PCI DSS documents.
Before March 31, 2024
You can continue to validate your PCI DSS compliance with a v3.2.1 document until March 31, 2024. After March 31, 2024, you must use the v4.0 document.
After March 31, 2024
You can continue using a v3.2.1 document to validate your PCI DSS compliance until your document expires. After it expires, you must use a v4.0 document.
We recommend already validating your PCI DSS compliance according to v4.0 and addressing any gaps before a formal validation is required.
