What is the timeframe for defending my chargeback?

There are set time frames in place for you to respond to disputes. The issuing banks are limited in the same way with time frames to exercise a chargeback. These time frames are set on a scheme level. You can find an overview below for the time frames to keep in mind when managing disputes. In the Customer Area, you will see how many days you have left to defend a dispute in the Disputes overview as well as the Dispute page.

The time frame (in calendar days) to exercise and defend a chargeback is visible in our Docs.

For some dispute reasons, the calendar days start counting from the expected delivery date instead of the transaction date:

  • Services not provided/Merchandise not received
  • Goods not as described/defective
  • Credit not processed
